This is a particularly unique
painting in that it is one of the last watercolors that
Jack painted. He was a master with watercolor, but as time
went on, he found he couldn't do justice to the fine detail
that he wanted to put into each animal or bird. It was in
the mid- '80's that he changed to acrylic as he could still
provide the detail in the image because the acrylic was
much more forgiving if he wanted to work over something.
There are a number of watercolors that are in private collections
all over the world.
